Katie and Christopher's Wedding at Grand Magnolia Ballroom & Suites in Pascagoula, MS

Updated: Apr 21, 2023

THE CEREMONY

Katie and Christopher's ceremony was indoors at the Grand Magnolia Ballroom. The ceremony setup was beautiful and everyone had a comfortable place to view the ceremony from their tables. I enjoyed setting up my gear and watching Jen and Chuck photograph the wedding party prior to the start of the ceremony. The atmosphere prior to the start of the ceremony was such a relaxed and cheerful time for the bride and groom as I found them laughing and giggling and really looking forward to their day. The Ceremony was beautiful, romantic, and sweet as the bride and groom's family and friends looked on and watched them become an 'official' couple.

THE RECEPTION

The cocktail hour started off great after the conclusion of the ceremony with a mix of tunes that Katie and Christopher picked out for their guests utilizing my brand new music and event planning app. They both loved the ease of use of the app and how they could add songs to their playlist and create their wedding timeline hassle-free.

We had fun introducing the Wedding Party as well and telling the guests a little about the Best Man and Matron of Honor and how they are tied into the wedding with a little biographical info about each person...the guests loved the response plus the Bridal Party enjoyed the choice of music that they walked in with.

After I announced the entrances, Katie and Christopher enjoyed their First Dance as husband and wife to Kenny Chesney's "Me and you". The Father Daughter dance followed with a suprise "Butterfly Kisses" medley. I created a special mix that started off with Bufferfly Kisses and then quickly mixed into a special song in which Katie and her father shared wonderful memories (The Chicken Dance, lol). Chris and his mother-in-law (Francis Allsup) shared a very emotional song/dance next...their wasn't a dry eye in the room.

Scranton's served up a great meal, too. The wedding couple had guests write a few cards of advice in which I read a few while they enjoyed their meal...I wish I had time to have read them all; they were great comments! Tim (the caricaturist) entertained everyone throughout the reception with his amazing talent and skill!

Adam and Sarah presented toasts to the newlyweds with the Cake cutting to follow. Katie and Christopher shared a few playful 'cake smashing' moments but they cleaned up quickly for more photos by Jen and Chuck Photography.

Guests were ready to dance after eating cake and we played a mixture of various fun songs that Katie and Christopher requested. After the last dance we had a fun bubble send-off with their guests as Katie and Christopher zoomed off to start their new lives together as husband and wife!

Katie and Christopher contacted me several times on social media and email to tell me how much fun they and their guests had. Here is an excert from a long review she wrote about me:

"DJ Jim Horn is the absolute BEST in the business! He made all of our dreams come true! We instantly connected with him when we first emailed and we knew from then on he was the only one to DJ our wedding! He has amazing advice and will work with you on any song to make your day magical! He not only made our wedding spectacular but he planned it all out by times so that everyone knew what was going on! Go ahead and book Jim Horn! You won't regret it!" - Katie, WeddingWire
