Q: How did you get started in this industry:

Jordan and I each have unique paths that led us to Say Yes Weddings and Events. For Jordan, being a wedding planner was always the dream – little Jordan grew up knowing exactly what she wanted to do! For me, it all started in the theater. I fell in love with both performing on stage and working behind the scenes, learning that every production is a carefully crafted experience – just like a wedding, a one-night-only event. My journey then took me into the political world, where I coordinated events for the President of the United States. Seeing firsthand what goes into massive rallies gave me an even deeper understanding of how to manage large-scale events. Together, our combined education and experiences make us ready for anything, ensuring that every wedding we plan is as flawless as it is magical!

Q: What sets your business apart from others in the same industry?

At Say Yes Weddings and Events, what truly sets us apart is our extensive education and dedication to the craft. Both Jordan and I hold degrees in Event Planning, so this isn’t just a passion we stumbled upon – it’s a career we’ve thoughtfully built with a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise. We’re also certified in both planning and design, and we believe in staying ahead of the curve. In fact, we’ll be attending classes this November on the latest wedding trends and designs to ensure our clients receive the most up-to-date, innovative services. Our commitment to continuous learning and professional development ensures that we can deliver not just beautiful events but flawlessly executed ones.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working with your clients?

What we love most about working with our clients is the opportunity to really connect with them on a deeper level. We specialize in a lot of Asian weddings and cultural fusion weddings, and it’s such a joy to learn about all the unique traditions that make each celebration special. Meeting our clients' families and becoming part of their journey is truly an honor. We don’t set a limit on the number of times we meet because we value building that bond, trust, and closeness. By the end of the planning process, we often feel like we’ve become part of the family – and that’s the most rewarding part for us!

Q: What advice do you have for clients when choosing a Wedding Planner?

Choose a wedding planner who totally matches your vibe and communication style! Seriously, your wedding planner and your photographer are the two vendors who will be by your side all day on one of the most important days of your life. So it’s crucial to feel comfortable with them! Does your planner communicate the way you prefer? If you’re all about texting or voice chats and they only stick to emails, it might not be the best fit. You want someone who feels like your best friend—someone who gets you, keeps you calm, and makes the process fun and stress-free!

Q: What are some common challenges you face in your business?

One of the most common challenges we face in the wedding industry is when couples opt to hire "friendor" vendors—friends or acquaintances who may have skills in areas like photography, DJing, or catering, but don’t specialize in weddings. While they may be talented in their respective fields, weddings require a specific flow and skill set that full-time wedding professionals possess. For example, a club DJ may not understand the intricate timing and nuances of a wedding day like a seasoned wedding emcee would. It’s so important to hire professionals who focus on weddings full-time, ensuring your day runs smoothly. We always recommend going with experienced vendors, like the incredible Jim Horn, who is a fantastic wedding emcee and knows how to keep things perfectly on track and all your guest on the dancefloor!
